Main Areas of Expertise Developmental Biology, Genetics, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Gene Expression Secondary Areas of Expertise Stem Cell Research, Cancer Research, Chromatin & DNA Replication Biography I earned a Ph.D. in biology from Harvard University, and then spent 13 years teaching biology at Harvard University and Colorado College. I have extensive experience writing about and presenting scientific information, and helping others do the same. I've written successful grant proposals, published first-author research papers in prominent journals, and presented talks and posters at numerous scientific conferences. I've reviewed hundreds of applications for tenure-track faculty positions and for medical school, and personally written more than a hundred recommendation letters. I've provided editorial feedback on thousands of pages of scientific writing from undergraduates, graduate students, and Ph.D. scientists. This group includes native and non-native English speakers. When I was acting as a teacher, my primary goal was to provide feedback that would help students improve their critical thinking and writing skills. When I was acting as a colleague, my goal was to improve the manuscript through editing, which I found enjoyable.
