Our basic English Proofreading service is aimed at authors whose work is already near acceptance in a scientific journal, pending a few minor spelling and grammatical corrections.
When you submit your paper for Proofreading, our in-house English grammar editors will check the prose for clarity and ambiguity, highlighting any sentences that may cause confusion. In addition to this, your paper will be checked for the following:
- Spelling and grammar errors
- Correct word usage (non-scientific)
- Correct punctuation
- Verb/subject agreement
- Consistency in formatting
This service ensures English grammar rules without re-arranging or re-writing the text, and is therefore about presentation. Proofreading is recommended only to authors who are certain their text is comprehensible and lacking ambivalence, as the work is not edited for its scientific content.
Unlike our Comprehensive Editing and Comprehensive Editing PLUS services, manuscripts submitted for Proofreading will not receive an Editing Certificate, nor will they qualify for free revisions.
